Can you tell us a bit about what you do at Lean Library?
I’m an Implementation Consultant at Lean Library. I’m here to help institutions and organisations set up their integrations with us so that their patrons (students or colleagues) can use our products smoothly and efficiently. From setting up trial accounts to working towards full implementation, we have meetings and regular check-ups with the institutions and make sure we provide timely support to any queries.
We also investigate all technical enquiries from our clients – as soon as they report an issue, I troubleshoot to find a solution.
What is your favourite thing about working at Lean Library?
The team! We have an amazing team at Lean Library. I love the collaboration, the energy, and the creativity in our team. It’s a bunch of fun and super smart people.
What is your favourite Lean Library value and how have you seen it put into action?
Collaborative is my favourite value and I see this in action every day in our team. We are very good at adapting and making improvements when we encounter different obstacles that come into our path.
What’s the best day you’ve ever had at work? Is there a particular project or milestone you are proud of?
The best day so far is the day that I met the team in person last September! I had been working with the team for around seven months until I first met everyone in person. I almost walked past everyone in the office but as soon as we started speaking, it was as if we’d already known each other for a very long time.
Speaking of proud moments, I’d say it’s whenever I help a client to solve a problem. It’s particularly special when they give some positive feedback too!
What three things are always on your desk?
Water bottle, speaker, and lip balm. I drink lots of water to stay hydrated! As I mainly work from home music is my company, so my speaker is always on whenever I’m not in a meeting.
What’s the best book you’ve read recently and why?
After watching the movie Dune, I started reading the novel. It’s a relatively long book and I’m reading it quite slowly. I’ll continue reading it during my upcoming trip to Dubai!
Is there a quote or mantra that you live by? What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever heard?
There’s not really a specific quote, but I live by the belief that there’s always a solution to a problem. In my early career, I was given a lot of challenging tasks and a lot of them seem unsolvable at first, but if you keep trying from a different angle, there’s always a way to solve it. Giving up is never an option!
It’s your day off. What do you have planned?
I’ll go and play tennis – that’s for sure. It’s my recent favourite sport. If I live by a beach, I’ll hang out there afterwards and read some books. To finish off the night, I’ll cook a nice meal and have it whilst watching Desperate Housewives or Queer Eye.
If you didn’t work at Lean Library or in your current role, what would you want to do?
I’ll probably be carrying on at job in recruitment. But if I REALLY can do anything I want, I’d love to be an astronaut because that’s my childhood dream that I’m still dreaming about now!
