Daniel Horvath, our Product Manager, is next to take the spotlight. Daniel started working at Lean Library in 2018, and is our longest-serving team member! His creative ideas and collaborative nature help the Lean Library team to excel on a daily basis, and he has seen our evolving business through many chapters.

Can you tell us a bit about what you do at Lean Library?
Even though Lean Library has grown a lot over the past year, we are still a relatively small team, and we all wear multiple hats. I head the product up; working on partnerships, integrations, road map and strategy, but I lead our customer experience and support team too.
What is your favourite thing about working at Lean Library?
It might sound cliché, but for me it is the combination of working with a great team on a great product. In such a young and small team, the strength really is within the team; this is our main value. Additionally, I truly believe in our new product Lean Library Futures, which we have been working hard on since last summer!
What is your favourite Lean Library value and how have you seen it put into action?
It would be Pioneering. Things that have never been done before tend to frighten some, but I personally take them as a challenge.
What’s the best day you’ve ever had at work? Is there a particular project or milestone you are proud of?
I don’t think I could name one – rather, I like that through time, I’ve got to experience and be part of the different chapters of Lean Library. I arrived when it was still a young start-up, witnessed the SAGE acquisition, and since have been actively participating in building the new direction out with Lean Library Futures. This is more exciting to me than just one day!
What three things are always on your desk?
My work desk needs to be as clean as possible. So apart from the necessities – laptop, monitor, keyboard and speakers – I tend to strive to have nothing else.
You can choose up to four people (dead or alive) to join your dinner party. Who are they?
Julius Caesar, David Attenborough, Cleopatra and a friend of mine, who I think would equally want to meet the mentioned persons!
You need to put your head down and get some work done. Do you have a go-to song?
For focused work I need to stop listening to music – but for kind of regular work, I would listen to relaxing electronic music.
It’s your day off. What do you have planned?
Huh – it depends. I like to hang out with my friends and family but also love spending my time off alone in nature to take photos or videos. Over the past few years, video and picture editing has grown to be my main hobby! During cold days I love playing board games, but during summer I equally like visiting festivals.
If you didn’t work at Lean Library or in your current role, what would you want to do?
I am not sure – but I would want to be working in a similarly small team, with great people, where I have the feeling I am able to make a difference.
